The Boulder Philharmonic
Celebrating 50 Years of Music

September 2007 - April 2008

This hallway exhibit celebrating the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra will take guests back to 1957 when a group of amateur artists met in the band room of Boulder High School under the direction of Tony Facey.  Through the years Antonia Brico, Andor Toth, David Burge, Oswald Lehnart and Theodore Kuchar have directed the Boulder Philharmonic musically.

Today, Michael Butterman is leading the Phil into the next 50 years.  Many nationally known guest musicians have performed with the Boulder Philharmonic.  Artists such as Sarah Chang who made her professional debut with the Phil in 1989 and has played with them in 2000 and 2001 and YoYo Ma who was a guest artist in 2000 are showcased.  A sampling of Young Artist Competition winners who have continued on to established music careers is displayed as well as season programs, posters, a look at the current season and a vision for the future.
