'Opening Doors, Opening Eyes -
Revealing Boulder's Treasures'

May 22, 2004 - January 29, 2005

This exhibit explored from A-Z of the Museum's extensive collection, the unveiling of a very special find, and an insightful probe into areas of Boulder's history, which up until now, have remained undocumented.

The 'Opening Doors, Opening Eyes' exhibition was in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Boulder History Museum. The Museum use this anniversary year as an opportunity to reach out to the Boulder community. "We have long been aware of the absence of items representing the wider community in our collection", says Nancy Geyer, Executive Director at the Museum. "Our hope is to open a dialogue with the Boulder community to ensure that we are representing the histories of all the people who have made Boulder their home". Curators of the exhibit invited local Native American, Black, Hispanic, and Japanese residents of Boulder County to participate in the development of this exhibit.
