Three on the Rocks
November 8 , 2005, 7pm
Chautauqua Community House,

900 Baseline Road, Boulder, CO, 80302

Three short films presented by local climbing legends:
Gary Neptune, Beth Bennett & Roger Briggs.

Diamond in Winter
narrated by Gary Neptune.
Come see some of the first footage filmed of a winter ascent of the Longs Peak Diamond face from February and March of 1973.

First Ascent
by Bob Carmichael - featuring Beth Bennett
The first all women climbing film! Beth Bennett and Lynn Hill make the first female free ascent of the Naked Edge, Eldorado Canyon, Colorado.

Break on Through
by Bob Carmichael - featuring Roger Briggs
Experience the Golden Era of climbing the Naked Edge in this striking film by Bob Carmichael. It serves as a tribute to leading climbers of the era, Roger Briggs and Duncan Ferguson, and also to the psychedelic style of the time. The Naked Edge, a 5.11 arete on the most prominent feature of Eldorado Canyon, was the test piece for climbers of the 1970s and 80s. This short film is considered a classic in American rock climbing history.
