Boulder History Museum is supporting Share-A-Gift through the Let's Play: Pastimes from the Past exhibit. Beginning Saturday, November 24 through December 9th, the Museum will give one free admission with each donation of a new or gently used book, toy, or game. All items collected will be donated to Share-A-Gift, a nonprofit organization that collects and distributes new and gently used toys to hundreds of families in need throughout the Boulder Valley School District each year. There are thousands of children in the Boulder Valley School District who may not get toys this holiday without the generosity of others.
The holiday season reminds us all of the joy we've gotten from favorite games and toys. Whether we're children and still play with those toys or have long outgrown them, the magic of the holiday season reminds us all of the joy we've gotten from favorite games and toys.
The Boulder History Museum's current exhibit, Let's Play: Pastimes from the Past, is a family-friendly exhibit that will take you back to the time before television and computer games to an era when Americans of all aged amused themselves with games, sports, hobbies, and myriad of other pastimes. Nancy Geyer, CEO of Boulder History Museum commented, "We are thrilled to be able to partner with Share-A-Gift this season. Our current exhibit, Let's Play highlights the joy of games, sports and play. I can't imagine children without gifts at this holiday season."
Items Share-A-Gift particularly needs are dolls, Dora the Explorer, Bratz dolls, remote control toys, trucks, and gifts for 11-14 year olds (CD players, sport team brand clothing, etc.). Tax deductible monetary donations are greatly appreciated. Please send checks payable to Share-A-Gift, Inc. to: Share-A-Gift, 1737 Sunlight Drive, Longmont, CO 80501.
Collection boxes will also be located at many BVSD schools, religious organizations and businesses (visit www.shareagift.org for locations).
