innie McIntosh, daughter of pioneers George and Amanda McIntosh, was born in a log cabin on what is now Ute Highway (Highway 66) in Longmont. She and her husband, George Lohr, bought the McIntosh homestead and built their farmhouse in 1909. There, they raised two sons and farmed for the half-century of their married life. Minnie helped grow crops and raise livestock and helped process and sell their products. Their farm survived war, the Great Depression, and hardships such as blizzards, drought, and disease. Minnie was exceptionally community-minded. An active member of the Hygiene Methodist Church Ladies Aid Society, she was willing to help anyone who needed it. Her legacy survives today at the Boulder County Agricultural Heritage Center, on the site of the Lohr-McIntosh farm.
