he steep rise of the Boulder Public Library's glass atrium is reminiscent of the sharply angled Flatirons. Together with the building's red sandstone, it recalls the topography of Boulder County. Inside, "Coming Home/Finding Home" is a public art work that echoes these materials in its exploration of ways in which women have shaped and been shaped by the landscape of Boulder County. A round table surrounded by three benches, the work situates the viewer within the Revealing Our Routes trail and in a larger universe of patterns, images, and ideas.
Nearby, at 1125 Pine Street, the Carnegie Branch Library for Local History houses archives, oral histories,
and photographs of Boulder history. The building, constructed in 1907 with a grant from Andrew Carnegie,
represents the efforts and achievements of early women librarians and activists in Boulder.
