Receptionist/Docents

Greet visitors as they enter the museum, provide a general overview of museum, help visitors in the gift shop and ring up purchases, handle admission fees. We especially need people on weekends for the summer.

 


 

Tour Guides

Lead interactive tours of the Museumn's exhibits and help facilitate local history-themed programs with K-12 students. Tours are usually no longer than 1 and 1/2 hours, guides are on call as needed.

Full training will be provided.

 


 

Seamstresses

Work with Historic Costumes and help sew in 'date labels' for Identification, and make costumes.

 

 

 


 

Celebrate Boulder! Summer Fest

Our Biggest Event of the Year! Typically held on a Sunday in early June, we need volunteers in all areas: Organizing and staffing our book sale, childrens games, arts and crafts, plus help setting up and breaking down of tables and tents.

 


 

Collections Assistant

Learn more about museum collection, database, how objects are accessioned (made part of permanent collection) and stored. Help with inventory of objects, database entry of object location and rehousing of objects.

 

Full training will be provided.

 

 


 

Exhibits Assistant

Assist the Curator of Exhibits in researching the content, objects and photographs for the upcoming temporary exhibits both online and in the Museum. In addition, volunteers will have the opportunity to help install exhibit components, mount photos, text panels and graphics. Individuals should enjoy researching history and have the ability to work independently with steady supervision.
